James "JD" Dinh They/Them/Their
James "JD" Dinh (they/them pronouns) joined the board in the Summer of 2019. They are a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). They are experienced in mental health, wellness promotion, and community building. They are a queer and genderqueer non-binary person of color, and spouse to a (divine) transwoman.
JD has been an LGBTQ+ rights advocate since their high school Gay-Straight Alliance. They have also been an HIV prevention counselor, and regularly volunteered for LGBTQ Youth programs and Drag Bingo fundraising. They are originally from Utah where they worked as a junior high dance teacher before transitioning to clinical social work and moving to Texas with their wife. JD and their wife were among the first in Utah to legally marry as "same-sex" partners the day of Judge Robert J. Shelby's historic Kitchen vs. Herbert court ruling in December 2013. Together they continue to fight for social justice and equity.
